Hello, this is a suggestion for The Golden Coin (TGC), since there is no "Suggestion" sub-forum.

My machine's specifications are:

Quote
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090804-1412)
Processor: AMD Sempron™ Processor 3100+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz (single core, 32-bit OS)
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Page File: 418MB used, 2030MB available

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Video Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT
Display Memory: 128.0 MB
Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Description: Realtek AC97 Audio

Initially starting TGC, it was running at 1 FPS (slower, actually). After spending 15 minutes, I managed to lower all graphic options.
I managed to change the resolution to 1280 x 1024/Full screen. It ran smoothly at 40 FPS after I reduced shaders/anti-aliasing.

My suggestions:

  • Check if a machine has low standards (like mine); If so, offer to start on low graphics
  • Have a 'safety mode' type boot (lowest possible graphics/audio/etc) for people with older machines
  • Have a quick "CHECK ALL" option for lowering graphics (so people don't have to manually lower/raise everything)

Thanks for your suggestions. Ok I will set in the future an option to set low, medium, high, ultra high graphics and I will of course think to introduce a safety mode biggrin
The game will also start on low graphics. For this release I don't had time to put all the things to low... happy
But it runs fine ingame now???

Yes, with the low graphic settings, it runs perfectly fine at 30-40 FPS.

It truly is a great game, especially for how many people have put work, time, and effort into it.
I'm a little jealous personally!
